What is PRiME III?
PRiME III, the Professional Certification in Rural M&E, is a training programme in monitoring and evaluation for agriculture and rural development. It is funded by IFAD, delivered by FGV CLEAR LAB with the GEI network.
Do I need previous M&E experience?
No. Fundamentals starts with the basic concepts. Many participants work with M&E without formal training in it.
Are the courses available in other languages?
- Fundamentals
- English now. Spanish and French from January 2027. Videos have subtitles in Arabic, Portuguese and Russian
- Evaluating Impact
- Opens in English in January 2027. Additional languages to be confirmed.
Can I take Evaluating Impact in Rural Contexts without Fundamentals?
Yes. You can take the online courses and workshops on their own, in any order.
Will the courses have a fee?
We will publish the terms for the 2027 public opening here, including fees.
I took part in PRiME I or II. Can I join?
Yes. If you work on an IFAD-financed project, you can join now. Otherwise, register your interest to hear when public enrolment opens.
Can my organization enrol a team?

Who can take the Hands-on Training?
Selected professionals from IFAD-financed projects. Exact dates, locations and selection criteria to be announced.
If you work on an IFAD-financed project
How do I enrol?
- Use the link in your invitation email, with the email address that received it.
- After you enrol, use Sign in at the top of this page to go back to the course.
Can I enrol at any time?
No. Each Fundamentals cohort has a fixed enrolment period. If you miss it, you can enrol in the next cohort.
How much time do I need?
About 40 hours, in up to three months. That is 3 to 4 hours per week.
Do I receive a certificate?
Yes, if you complete the course and get at least 80% in the final assessment.
What happens if I do not pass the final assessment?
You have 3 attempts. After 3 attempts below 80%, you can try again in the next cohort.
Is there any cost for me?
Confirm your enrolment terms with your project.
